A Preview of Chibo Okonomiyaki

One of the best things about Japan is their FOOOOOD! Nothing beats a quintessential Japanese food dish like okonomiyaki - a savoury pancake filled with a variety of ingredients (including meat, seafood, and vegetables) and topped with fish flakes, ground dried seaweed, mayonnaise, and a special Worcester-style sauce. After our trip from Osaka last December, I found myself always hankering for authentic okonomiyaki. Luck came my way when a friend of mine invited me together with other bloggers, to the preview of Chibo Okonomiyaki in S Maison, Conrad Hotel. Widely regarded in Japan as the king of all okonomiyaki restaurants, Chibo Okonomiyaki proudly owns a 6-storey building in Shinsaibashi Dotonbori in Osaka. Finuhlly found the oneee! (hihi) And so that night, I came in hungry ready to devour everything on my plate. (Yes, that was the goal. haha!) So are you in to see my Chibo Okonomiyaki experience?

Warning: The appetizing photos you'll see will definitely make you hungry! ;)

Potato with Cheese Teppan, Php 120

Chibo Okonomiyaki, Php 380

Butatama Okonomiyaki, Php 190

*Butatama Okonomiyaki is Osaka's classic okonomiyaki with pork.

Aside from its famous okonomiyakis, we also got to try the restaurant's other popular dishes!

Mixed Yakisoba, Php 330

Ika (Squid), Php 180

Wagyu Beef, Php 1,200

One of the best steaks I've had in a while! It's perfectly cooked that it literally melts in your mouth!!! Yuuuuum. ~ but I think it's a bit pricey though. :(

Shake (Salmon), Php 280

O-Ebi (Tiger Prawn), Php 250

Gyoza Teppan, Php 150

First time to try a gyoza that's flat. Surprisingly, it was so good and even tastier than the usual gyoza!

Onigiri (Rice Ball), Php 180

Hotate (Scallops), Php 280

Ebi Mayo Teppan, Php 330

This is what I call a beautiful mess. <3

We were all so full from eating all the dishes above, but of course we made sure to leave some space in our tummies for Chibo Okonomiyaki's sumptuous desserts. ;)

Blancmange with Mango Puree, Php 120

3 Flavors of Ice Cream, Php 180

Overall, I enjoyed every single bite of all the dishes we ordered. If I were to rate this restaurant, I'd give it a 9 out of 10. The food was really outstanding, not to mention that their prices are affordable too. From the pictures, you can depict that the place is very cozy and sosyal. Moreso, I heard that their teppanyaki tables are even imported from Japan, completing our Osaka experience.

Happy tummies equals happy girls! :) Can't wait to be back with my family so that they can try the restaurant as well!

Chibo Okonomiyaki is located at 2/F, S Maison, Conrad Manila Seaside Blvd. corner Coral Way, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
